1930-2002

Short interview with Bengt

Bengt Stern was a qualified doctor. In the 1970’s he had his own practice in Skärholmen outside Stockholm.

Bengt was also an author, lecturer, an accomplished society debater, creator of Meet Yourself process, course leader and trainer for course leaders.

Apart from traditional medicine, Bengt studied psychosomatic medicine, body psychotherapy together with humanistic and transpersonal psychology in Europe, India and USA:

In 1985, Bengt started the Mullingstorp Education and Health Institute at his father’s farm at Vikoblandet. He designed and documented in detail the Meet Yourself process.

He trained a large staff who from the beginning led the courses under his leadership. Gradually he turned more and more to writing and research.

Over the years more than 3000 people have taken part in the Meet Yourself process. Many of them are top people in business life, sport and entertainment.

Bengt published three books, the most well known being “Feeling Bad is a Good Start”. This book is translated from the Swedish into Norwegian, Dutch, German and English.

The book “Feeling Bad is a Good Start”, gives a clear picture of the psyche of man why he reacts as he does and why he feels bad. The book also gives a background to the courses at Mullingstorp. It describes the most important exercises in the Meet Yourself process.

In the beginning of the 1990s Bengt was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He was given six months to live but survived a whole decade thanks to research and his adapting several alternative treatments. Bengt died peacefully at home at Mullingstorp on 6 September 2002.
